Caner Dagli
Caner Dagli is Associate Professor of religious studies at the College of the Holy Cross. He specializes in Quranic studies, Islamic philosophy and mysticism, and interreligious engagement. He is one of the General Editors of The Study Quran: A New Translation and Commentary (2015). His most recent book is Metaphysical Institutions: Islam and the Modern Project (2024). He has been long involved in interfaith dialogue serving as Interfaith Affairs Consultant in the Royal Hashemite Court of Jordan (2006-2007), where he was primary author of An Open Letter to the Pope (in response to Pope Benedict XVI’s Regensburg lecture), which formed the basis for A Common Word Between Us and You, a groundbreaking initiative in Muslim-Christian dialogue, in which he participated.
